Why do we have to grade the first 100 days of Obama’s Presidency?
It is amazing to see political commentators and pundits are ready to grade the first 100 days of the presidency without any grading criteria to arrive at the letter (A, B, or C) grade. Some of the commentators even used + and – in grading the president. The media is even asking the citizens to grade the first 100 days of Obama’s Presidency using the letter grade. Grading the first 100 days of Presidency using a letter grade is a subjective process and it does not make any sense to compile the letter grade and compute an average. What constitutes the letter grade of “A” in one’s mind is not the same in somebody else’s mind. All this media hoopla about whether the President Obama has received a grade of A, B, C means nothing because there are no set criteria to assign a grade. This media ritual may be designed to remind the executive branch of the government that elite media have the power to grade the presidency without predetermined criteria. Grades are useful if the goals and objectives are established and the grading criteria are disclosed before grading the first 100 days of Presidency.
At Sunlona.com, we believe that the job of the President is ever evolving and a set criteria are difficult to establish for grading the first 100 days of Presidency. Sunlona.com salutes the President for his dedication and hard work for the last 100 days. He is diligently working on stabilizing the financial crisis, improving national security, managing the crisis in the auto industry, building U.S. image in the global community, cutting government waste, and bringing transparency in government. In other words, President Obama received A+ in the language of elite media for the first 100 days of his presidency.
